DTC 2608: Rear Camera Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when NG is indicated in the Rear Camera diagnosis (the Rear Camera icon is red in the System Link).
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 3. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2608 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Determine possible failure area (CAMERA ADPT line, others)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
2-door: Rearview camera 8P connector - Refer to: Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (4-door), or Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (2-door) 4-door: Rearview camera 12P connector - Refer to: Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (4-door), or Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (2-door) - 3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode 2-door: Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected 4-door: Rearview camera 12P connector: disconnected Test circuit CAMERA ADPT 2-door
Test point 1 Rearview camera 8P connector No. 6 (LT BLU) Test point 2 Body ground 4-door
Test point 1 Rearview camera 12P connector No. 8 (LT BLU) Test point 2 Body ground 2-Door
4-Door
Is there about 3.0 V?
YES
The CAMERA ADPT wire is OK. Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (CAMERA ADPT line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode 2-door: Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected 4-door: Rearview camera 12P connector: disconnected Test circuit CAMERA ADPT Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 17 (LT BLU) - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 3.0 V?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the rearview camera.
NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Rearview camera check
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode 2-door: Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected 4-door: Rearview camera 12P connector: disconnected Test circuit CAMERA GND 2-door
Test point 1 Rearview camera 8P connector No. 3 (RED) Test point 2 Body ground 4-door
Test point 1 Rearview camera 12P connector No. 12 (RED) Test point 2 Body ground 2-Door
4-Door
Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the rearview camera - Refer to: Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (4-door), or Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (2-door) .
NO
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (CAMERA GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode 2-door: Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected 4-door: Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected Test circuit CAMERA GND Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 3 (RED) - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
