DTC 2706: Mic Diagnostic (Display Audio) (2016-17)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the microphone circuit (the Mic icon is red in the System Link).
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.
- 3. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2707 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Determine possible failure area (MIC PWR line, others)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector No. 4 - Refer to: HFL-Navigation Microphone Connector for Inputs and Outputs, or HFL-Navigation Microphone Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 8.0 V?
YES
The MIC PWR wire is OK. Go to step 5. Refer to: 5
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (MIC PWR line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode HFT microphone 8P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector J (28P) No. 25 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2013), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2015 2016), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 8.0 V?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone and the audio-navigation unit.
NO
The MIC PWR wire is not open. Go to step 4.
- Shorted wire check (MIC PWR line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector J (28P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected Audio unit connector J (28P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector J (28P) No. 25 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2013), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2015 2016), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone and the audio-navigation unit.
NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2013), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2015 2016), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Determine possible failure area (Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone, others)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Replace the Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone .
NO
Go to step 6.
- Determine possible failure area (MIC+ line, others)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The MIC+ wire is OK. Go to step 9. Refer to: 9
NO
Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (MIC+ line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

There is an open in the wire (s) between the front FFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone and the audio unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The MIC+ wire is not open. Go to step 8.
- Shorted wire check (MIC+ line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector J (28P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

There is a short to body ground in the wire between the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The MIC+ wire is not shorted to ground. Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (MIC- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

The MIC- wire is not open. Go to step 10.
NO
There is an open in the wire (s) between the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Shorted wire check (MIC+ line to MIC- line, SH_MIC line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
