DTC 2711: AUX Video Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when NG is indicated in the AUX Video diagnosis (the AUX Video icon is red in the System Links).
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification 1
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 3. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2711 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Problem verification 2
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 3. Disconnect the AUX device, then connect a known-good AUX device to the auxiliary jack assembly.
- 4. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2711 indicated?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Original AUX device is faulty.
- Shorted wire check1 (AUX DET line, AUX GND line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector Audio-navigation unit C (20P) connector - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector: disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P): disconnected Test circuit AUX DET Test point 1 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 5 (GRY) Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit AUX GND Test point 1 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 4 (YEL) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the wire between the auxiliary jack assembly and audio-navigation unit.
NO
Go to step 4.
- Shorted wire check2 (AUX DET line, AUX GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector: disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P): disconnected Test circuit AUX DET, AUX GND Test point 1 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 5 (GRY) Test point 2 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 4 (YEL) Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the wire between the auxiliary jack assembly and audio-navigation unit.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (AUX DET line, AUX GND line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector: disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P): disconnected Test circuit AUX DET Test point 1 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 5 (GRY) Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P) No. 16 (GRY) Test circuit AUX GND Test point 1 Auxiliary jack assembly 5P connector No. 4 (YEL) Test point 2 Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 6 (YEL) Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the auxiliary jack assembly and the audio-navigation unit.
- Auxiliary jack assembly check (substitution)
-1. Substitute a known-good auxiliary jack assembly.
- 2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
- 3. Clear the hard error codes.
- 4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 5. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2711 indicated?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
NO
Replace the original auxiliary jack assembly.
