DTC 2714: LaneWatch Camera Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the microphone circuit (the Mic icon is red in the System Link).
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 3. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2714 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- LaneWatch camera check
-1. Start the engine.
- 2. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the LaneWatch in the System Links to check the Connection.
Is Connection OK indicated?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 8. Refer to: 8
- LaneWatch switch check
-1. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the LaneWatch in the System Links to check the LaneWatch SW.
- 2. Push the LaneWatch switch to ON.
Does the LaneWatch SW signal change from "-" to "ON" when the LaneWatch switch is ON?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit .
NO
Go to Does not switch the LaneWatch screen troubleshooting - Refer to: LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Lanewatch camera image does not come on (Switches to the black screen) (Without Touch Screen), or LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Does not switch to the Lanewatch screen (Without Touch Screen), or LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Lanewatch camera image does not come on (Switches to the black screen) (With Touch Screen), or LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Does not switch to the Lanewatch screen (With Touch Screen), or LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Lanewatch camera image does not come on (Switches to the black screen) (With Display Audio) (2016-17), or LaneWatch Symptom Troubleshooting - Does not switch to the Lanewatch screen (With Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Determine possible failure area (BSM VID line, others)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
LaneWatch camera 6P connector - 3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VID Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector No. 3 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 3.0 V?
YES
The BSM VID wire is OK. Go to step 6.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (BSM VID line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VID Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 20 (BLK) - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 3.0 V?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the LaneWatch camera.
NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- LaneWatch camera check
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VID GND Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector No. 4 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the LaneWatch camera .
NO
Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (BSM VID GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VID GND Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 8 (WHT) - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the LaneWatch camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Shorted wire check (BSM VCC line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Lanewatch camera 6P connector - 3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode Lanewatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VCC Test point 1 Lanewatch camera 6P connector No. 6 (RED) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 8V?
YES
Replace the LaneWatch camera .
NO
Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (BSM VCC line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition ON mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Test circuit BSM VCC Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) No. 21 (RED) - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 8V?
YES
Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the LaneWatch camera.
NO
Go to step 10.
- LaneWatch camera check (substitution)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- 2. Substitute a known-good LaneWatch camera.
- 3. Clear the hard error codes.
- 4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 5. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 2707 indicated?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
NO
Replace the original LaneWatch camera.
