DTC B1280: Turn Signal Switch Circuit Malfunction

B1280 Turn Signal Switch Circuit Malfunction  

DTC (MICU)

  1. Turn signal/hazard warning lights system check

    -1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions
    Values Unit Values Unit
    Turn Signal Switch (LEFT) OFF      
    Turn Signal Switch (RIGHT) OFF      

    Are both data list values indicated OFF?

    YES 

    Go to step 2 below.

    NO 

    Go to step  4

  2. Turn signal/hazard warning lights system check 2

    -1. Operate the turn signal switch to the left or right position.

    - 2. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions

    Turn Signal Switch (LEFT) ON      
    Turn Signal Switch (RIGHT) ON      

    Are both data list values indicated ON?

    YES 

    Go to step 3 below.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  3. Shorted wire check (R TURN SW to L TURN SW line)

    -1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Combination light switch 12P connector

    - 3. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.

    Terminal A Combination light switch 12P connector No. 10 (RED)
    Terminal B Body ground

    - 4. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Turn Signal Switch (LEFT) OFF      
    Signal Threshold Current conditions
    Values Unit Values Unit
    Turn Signal Switch (RIGHT) ON      

    Are both data list values correct?

    YES 

    The R TURN SW wire and the L TURN SW wire is not shorted. Replace the combination light switch .

    NO 

    Repair a short between the wires.

  4. Shorted wire check (L TURN SW line or R TURN SW line)

    -1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Turn Signal Switch (LEFT) ON      
    Turn Signal Switch (RIGHT) OFF      

    Is TURN SIGNAL SWITCH (LEFT) value ON?

    YES 

    Go to step 5 below.

    NO 

    Go to step  6

  5. Shorted wire check (L TURN SW line)

    -1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Combination light switch 12P connector

    - 3. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Turn Signal Switch (LEFT) ON      

    Is TURN SIGNAL SWITCH (LEFT) value ON?

    YES 

    Repair a short to ground in the wire.

    NO 

    The L TURN SW wire is OK. Replace the combination light switch .

  6. Shorted wire check (R TURN SW line)

    -1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Combination light switch 12P connector

    - 3. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions

    Turn Signal Switch (RIGHT) ON      

    Is TURN SIGNAL SWITCH (RIGHT) value ON?

    YES 

    Repair a short to ground in the wire.

    NO 

    The R TURN SW wire is OK. Replace the combination light switch .
