DTC 93-01: Check Data Communication To LKAS Unit/Multipurpose Camera Unit (2017)

NOTE: BEFORE YOU TROUBLESHOOT, RECORD ALL FREEZE DATA AND ANY ON-BOARD SNAPSHOT, AND REVIEW THE HOW TO TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION .

DTC (EPS (LKAS))

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   - 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then back to the ON mode.

   - 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	DTC	Freeze Frame
   93-01: Check Data Communication to LKAS Unit/Multipurpose Camera Unit

   Is DTC 93-01 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   EPS control unit connector A (11P)

   Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	EPS control unit connector A (11P): disconnected
   	Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector
   Test point 1	EPS CONTROL UNIT CONNECTOR A (11P) NO. 10
   Test point 2	MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA UNIT 20P CONNECTOR NO. 2

   Test point 1	EPS CONTROL UNIT CONNECTOR A (11P) NO. 11
   Test point 2	MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA UNIT 20P CONNECTOR NO. 13

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   The F-CAN C_H and F-CAN C_L wires are OK. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EPS control unit and the multipurpose camera unit, REPLACE THE MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA UNIT .

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the EPS control unit and the multipurpose camera unit.
