HandsFreeLink Control Unit Input Test
1. Remove the HandsFreeLink control unit (A) - Refer to: HandsFreeLink Control Unit Removal and Installation , HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update ('13 - '15) .
2. Inspect the connector (B) and the socket (C) terminals to make sure all the pins are making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 3.
3. Reconnect the connector, and make these input tests at the connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests are OK, go to step 4.
Cavity Wire Color Test Condition Test: Desired Result Possible Cause if Desired Result is not Obtained 16 BLK Ignition switch in ACCESSORY (I) Measure the voltage to body ground: There should be less than 0.2 V. - Poor ground (G503)
- An open or high resistance in the wire
31 PUR Ignition switch in ACCESSORY (I) Measure the voltage to body ground: There should be battery voltage. - Blown No. B19 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
32 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to body ground: There should be battery voltage. - Blown No. A29 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
4. Disconnect the 32P connector again, and make this input test at the connector. If the input test is OK, the HandsFreeLink control unit is faulty, replace it.
