System Description: Overview: Notes
The audio-navigation unit or audio unit acts as the processor for all audio functions. Select audio functions from the audio-navigation unit or audio unit buttons or the audio remote switch (on the steering wheel). The center display provides the current audio status.
The audio-navigation unit or audio unit has a built-in EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory). This memory holds the audio presets (AM/FM radio frequency, sound settings, etc.) even when the battery is disconnected.
A security signal is daisy-chained between the audio system and vehicle components for integration into the vehicle's security system.
There are three audio systems available for the PILOT:
- With navigation (with rear entertainment), which includes a stereo amplifier with 10 speakers.
- With navigation (without rear entertainment), which includes a stereo amplifier with 7 speakers.
- Without navigation which includes 7 speakers.
