HFL Switch Test/Replacement

- Remove the driver's airbag (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
- Remove the HFL-navigation voice control switch (see STEERING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
- Measure the resistance between terminals No. 3 and No. 4 in each switch position according to the table.

HFL SWITCH RESISTANCE CHARTPosition Resistance No button pressed About 1 kΩ HFL TALK button pressed About 185 Ω HFL BACK button pressed About 47 Ω - Use a diode tester between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
- If the diode tester is not as specified, replace the HFL switch (see STEERING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
- Install the HFL switch in the reverse order of removal.
