Security indicator does not work properly

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
  • The system will not operate without the 4-digit security (anti-theft) code.
  • Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the 4-digit security (anti-theft) code.

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, than wait for 3 minutes.
  2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

    Does the security indicator (LED) on (blink)? 

    YES  -Go to step 3.

    NO  -Substitute a known-good audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■

  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  4. Enter the 4-digit security (anti-theft) code.

    Is the security indicator (LED) light out? 

    YES  -The audio unit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at audio unit and audio panel. ■

    NO  -Substitute a known-good audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■
