Diagnostic Test: Car Status

NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Inspect the navigation DVD for scratches or damage.
- Confirm the correct navigation DVD color and version disc is installed in the navigation unit.
- Refer to General Troubleshooting for a list of common DVD screen error messages and the probable causes (see PC CARD FAQS ).
- Go into the Diagnostic mode and use the Car Status diagnostic (see CAR STATUS ) to check the status of the DVD cover.
- The following troubleshooting is for the error messages shown on the error message table (see PC CARD FAQS ).
- Check the navigation DVD reading surface for scratches and finger prints.
Are there any scratches or finger prints on the navigation DVD reading surface?
YES - Clean or replace the navigation DVD (see DVD-ROM REPLACEMENT ). ■
NO - If the problem occurs occasionally when the system is cold, this is normal. If the problem occurs frequently when driving, replace the navigation unit (see NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). ■
