Removal and Installation

NOTICE:
- Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
- To avoid damaging the wiring and terminals, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
- Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Also, be sure that they do not contact other wiring or hoses, or interfere with other parts.
NOTE: Unless otherwise indicated, illustrations used in the procedure are for the model with the AWD.

1. Open the hood, and secure it with the hood support rod (a) in the wide-open position (b). - Fuel Pressure - Relieve - Refer to: Fuel Pressure Relieving () or Fuel Pressure Test ()

NOTICE:
- Do not disconnect and excessively bend the suction hose and the discharge hose.
- Hang the A/C compressor with a zip tie.
- Do not allow the A/C compressor to hang by the suction or discharge hose.

- Chain Hoist - Attach
1. Install a chain hoist (a).
NOTE: Attach a chain hoist to the engine hanger (b) and the transmission hanger (c), then lift the engine/transmission until it is securely supported by the chain hoist.2. Remove the engine support hanger and the extra arm kit.
- Side Engine Mount Bracket - Remove

1. Check that the engine/transmission is completely free of the vacuum hoses, fuel hoses, coolant hoses, and electrical harnesses. 2. Slowly lower the engine/transmission about 150 mm (5.91 in). Check once again that all the hoses and electrical harnesses are disconnected and free from the engine/transmission, then lower it all the way and support it.
3. Remove the chain hoist from the engine/transmission.
4. Raise the vehicle, and remove the engine/transmission from under the vehicle.
- All Removed Parts - Install
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTICE:
After mounting the side engine mount, the transmission mount, and the torque rod, confirm the tightening procedure before installing the remaining parts.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

- Transfer Assembly Fluid - Refill (AWD)
- ATF - Refill
- Engine Oil - Refill - Refer to: Engine Oil Replacement () or Engine Oil Level Check ()
- Fuel Leak (Low Pressure Side) - Check
- Engine Coolant - Refill - Refer to: Coolant Check () or Coolant Replacement ()
- Fuel Leak (High Pressure Side) - Check
- Fluid Leak - Check
- PCM - Reset - Refer to: PCM Update () or PCM Reset ()
- PCM Idle - Learn
- Idle Speed - Inspect
- Ignition Timing - Inspect
- Wheel Alignment - Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize - Refer to: VSA Modulator-Control Unit Update () or VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization ()
