Negative Diode Test

Using DVOM, check continuity between negative rectifier and stator coil lead connection terminal. See STEP 2 in illustration. See Figure . The DVOM should read continuity in only one direction. If there is continuity in both directions, the diode is shorted, and the rectifier assembly must be replaced.
