Positive Diode Test

Using Digital Volt Ohmmeter (DVOM), check continuity between positive rectifier and stator coil lead connection terminal. See STEP 1 in illustration. See Figure . The DVOM should read continuity in only one direction. If there is continuity in both directions, a diode is shorted. Replace the rectifier assembly.
