General Information: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Check HO2S Signal Amplitude
  • Leak in intake or exhaust system.
  • Poor connection or damaged harness
  • HO2S contamination
Enable Conditions
  • Sensor tip temp > 650°C (1202°F)
  • Forced stimulation active
  • No lambda control limitation
  • Canister saturation limited < 0.5
  • 990 rpm < Engine speed < 3490 rpm
  • 240 mg/rev < Engine Load < 800 mg/rev
  • Coolant temperature > 74°C (165°F)
  • Vehicle speed > 3 mph
  • Ambient pressure > 70 kPa
  • Stable driving condition
  • Downstream O2 sensor pre-heating finished
  • No relevant failure
  • 11V<Battery voltage<16V
Threshold Value
  • Integral (Lambda signal amplitude measured/Lambda signal amplitude of a slow sensor) > 1.0
Diagnostic Time
  • 20 Forced stimulation cycles
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
