Idle Speed

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Check and adjust ignition timing (if necessary). See IGNITION TIMING  .
  2. Check idle speed. If idle speed is not within specification, disconnect Idle Air Control Valve-Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-AAC) valve harness connector. Turn idle speed screw on IACV-AAC valve unit. See Fig 1 . See IDLE SPEED & CO LEVEL table.
  3. Connect IACV-AAC valve harness connector. Run engine at 2000 RPM for about 2 minutes under no load and then return to idle. Idle speed should be as specified.
