EGR Temperature Sensor

EGR temperature sensor, located near EGR valve, detects temperature of exhaust gases passing through EGR valve. Sensor, which incorporates a thermistor, changes its resistance value in response to changes in exhaust gas temperature. As temperature of exhaust gases increases, resistance of sensor decreases. These changes in resistance are interpreted by ECM and used in calculations to control output voltage signals to EGR solenoid.
