Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up during abrupt braking. The system detects wheel rotation rate and electronically controls fluid pressure applied to brakes.
A slight vibration and noise may be noticed during hard braking. These conditions are normal and indicate anti-lock brake system is functioning properly. Components include ABS control unit, actuator assembly, "G" sensor (4WD only), 2 front wheel sensors and 2 rear wheel sensors. See Figure .
