Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor

The IAT sensor is located in the air cleaner duct. Sensor monitors temperature of incoming air. Sensor is a thermistor and increases (cold) or decreases (hot) its resistance in response to temperature changes. IAT sensor input affects ignition timing when intake air temperature is extremely high, to prevent engine knock (detonation).
