TAC Module Code 12: Secondary TP Sensor Signal Input Circuit
- Disconnect TAC module harness connector. Check terminals for damage or loose connections. Reconnect TAC module harness connector. Repeat ABS/TCS self-diagnostic procedure. While observing dash warning indicators, turn ignition on. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light illuminates during bulb check, system is okay. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between chassis ground and secondary throttle position sensor harness connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/White wire). If voltage reading is about 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage reading is not about 5 volts, repair connectors or circuit between TAC module harness connector terminal No. 15 (Brown/White wire) and secondary TP sensor harness connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/White wire).
- Turn ignition off. Check continuity between chassis ground and secondary TP sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair connectors or circuit between TAC module and secondary TP sensor.
- Disconnect TAC module harness connector. Check continuity between TAC module harness connector terminal No. 3 (White wire) and secondary TP sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). Continuity should exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, repair harness and connector.
- Test secondary TP sensor. See DTC P1120: SECONDARY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR test procedure in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - Q45 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Replace secondary TP sensor as necessary.
