DTC P0460: Fuel Level Sensor Function (Slosh): Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector located behind access cover, under rear seat. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire). See Figure. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open or short in Green wire and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Check continuity between body ground and fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). Also check circuit for short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary and retest system. If ground circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector. See Figure. Check continuity of the following:
- Green wire between fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector terminal No. 2 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 83.
- Black wire between fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector terminal No. 5 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 59.
See Figure. Also check circuits for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit(s) as necessary and retest system. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Remove fuel level sensor from fuel tank. Measure resistance between fuel level sensor and fuel pump harness connector terminals No. 2 and 5, with sensor at specified positions. See Figure. See FUEL LEVEL SENSOR RESISTANCE table. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel level sensor and retest system.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
