Power Steering Pressure Switch System Test: Altima
- Start engine. Measure voltage between ground and ECM terminal No. 25 (Light Green/Black wire) by backprobing. See Figure and Figure . When steering wheel is being turned quickly, voltage should be about zero volts. When steering wheel is not being turned quickly, voltage should be about 5 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to step 4. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and power steering pressure switch harness connectors. See Figure. Check continuity of Light Green/Black wire between power steering pressure switch harness connector and ECM harness connector terminal No. 25. Also, check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check power steering pressure switch. See POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH . Replace, if necessary. If power steering pressure switch is okay, go to next step.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
