DTC Confirmation Test
Malfunction is detected when an excessively low or high voltage from Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module is sent to ECM. Possible causes are:
- TCS signal circuit open or shorted.
- Defective TAC module.
To set DTC, turn ignition on. Turn TCS switch to ON position. Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 seconds. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and retrieve DTCs using MIL. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES USING MIL under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
