Front Wheel Turning Angle

  1. Rotate steering wheel all the way right and left; measure turning angle.

    Turning angle of full turns: 

    Refer to  Front Wheel Turning Angle   table. 

    Front Wheel Turning Angle

    Wheel Turning Angle Degree Minute (Decimal Degree)
    Inside Minimum 36° 50' (36.83°)
    Nominal 39° 50' (39.83°)
    Maximum 40° 50' (40.83°)
    Outside Nominal 32° 25' (32.42°)
    Note  - On power steering models, wheel turning force (at circumference of steering wheel) of 98 to 147 N.m (22 to 33 ft. Lbs.) with engine idling.

  2. If it is not within specification, check rack stroke.

    Rack stroke "S": 

    Refer to  SERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS)  .
