Encoder Circuit Check
- CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY
Check voltage between auto trunk motor connector B109 terminal 5 and ground.
- 5 (L/R) - Ground: Battery voltage
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 3.
- NG: GO TO 2.
- CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect auto trunk control unit and auto trunk motor connector.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 14 and auto trunk motor connector B109 terminal 5.
- 14 (L/R) - 5 (L/R): Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 14 and ground.
- 14 (L/R) - Ground: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace auto trunk control unit.
- NG: Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK ENCODER GROUND
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect auto trunk motor connector.
- Check continuity between auto trunk motor connector B109 terminal 9 and ground.
- 9 (R/W) - Ground: Continuity should exist.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 5.
- NG: GO TO 4.
- CHECK ENCODER GROUND CIRCUIT
- Disconnect auto trunk control unit.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 16 and auto trunk motor connector B109 terminal 9.
- 16 (R/W) - 9 (R/W): Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 16 and ground.
- 16 (R/W) - Ground: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace auto trunk control unit.
- NG: Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL
- Connect auto trunk motor connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check the signal between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 15 and ground with oscilloscope.
OK or NG
- OK: Encoder function is OK.
- NG: GO TO 6.
- CHECK ENCODER CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect auto trunk control unit and auto trunk motor connector.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 15 and auto trunk motor connector B109 terminal 8.
- 15 (Y) - 8 (Y): Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between auto trunk control unit connector B110 terminal 15 and ground.
- 15 (Y) - Ground: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace auto trunk motor.
- NG: Repair or replace harness.
