Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION OF SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Drive the vehicle and check if the function of the speedometer in the combination meter is normal.

      OK: Actual vehicle speed and the speed indicated on the speedometer are the same. 

      HINT:

      The vehicle speed sensor is functioning normally when the indication on the speedometer is normal.

    NG: Go TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - COMBINATION METER) 
    1. Disconnect the K6 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the J28 meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - COMBINATION METER) TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K6-3 (SPD) - J28-35 (+S) Always Below 1 Ω
      K6-3 (SPD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      OK (for Column Shift Type) A
      OK (for Floor Shift Type) B
      NG C

    B: REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER  (see REMOVAL  (For Floor Shift Type) )

    C: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    A: REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER  (see REMOVAL  (For Column Shift Type) )
