Diagnosis Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Infiniti M45 and 2008 Infiniti M35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Without Navigation 

  1. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT (FRONT DISPLAY SIDE) 

    Check voltage between front display unit harness connector and ground.

    VOLTAGE REFERENCE TABLE

    Signal name Connector No. Terminal No. Ignition switch position Value (Approx.)
    Signal VCC M203 3 ACC 9 V
    Inverter VCC 2

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: GO TO  4.

    No: GO TO  2.

  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT (CONTINUITY) 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the harness connector between front display unit and AV control unit.
    3. Check continuity between front display unit harness connector M203 and AV control unit harness connector M222.
      CONTINUITY REFERENCE TABLE

      Signal name Front display unit (M203) AV control unit (M222) Continuity
      Signal VCC 3 47 Existed
      Inverter VCC 2 59
    4. Check continuity between front display unit harness connector M203 and ground.
      CONTINUITY REFERENCE TABLE

      Signal name Front display unit (M203) - Continuity
      Signal VCC 3 Ground Not existed
      Inverter VCC 2 Ground

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: GO TO  3.

    No: Repair harness or connector.

  3. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT (AV CONTROL UNIT SIDE) 
    1. Connect the AV control unit harness connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ACC.
    3. Check voltage between AV control unit harness connector and ground.
      VOLTAGE REFERENCE TABLE

      Signal name Connector No. Terminal No. Ignition switch position Value (Approx.)
      Signal VCC M222 47 ACC 9 V
      Inverter VCC 59

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: INSPECTION END

    No: Replacement of AV control unit.

  4. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect front display unit connector.
    3. Check continuity between front display unit harness connector and ground.
      CONTINUITY REFERENCE TABLE

      Ground M203 1 OFF Existed

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: INSPECTION END

    No: Repair harness or connector.

With Navigation 

  1. CHECK FUSE

    Check for blown fuses.

    FUSES REFERENCE TABLE

    Power source Fuse No.
    Battery 37
    Ignition switch ACC or ON 6

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: GO TO  2.

    No: Be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse.

  2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 

    Check voltage between front display unit harness connector and ground.

    VOLTAGE REFERENCE TABLE

    Battery power supply M203 2 OFF Battery voltage
    ACC power supply 3 ACC Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: GO TO  3.

    No: Check harness between front display unit and fuse.

  3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect front display unit connector.
    3. Check continuity between front display unit harness connector and ground.
      CONTINUITY REFERENCE TABLE

      Ground M203 1 OFF Existed

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    Yes: INSPECTION END

    No: Repair harness or connector.
