Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY - NAVIGATION RECEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the W2 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the K5 receiver connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W2-11 (NTSO) - K5-1 (VV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      W2-10 (SGN1) - K5-4 (VV-)
      W2-9 (SLD) - K5-4 (VV-)
      W2-11 (NTSO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W2-10 (SGN1) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY (NTSO SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the W2 display connector.
    2. Check that waveform of the display using an oscilloscope.

      OK: Waveform is as shown in the illustration. 

      WAVEFORM REFERENCE

      Item Content
      Terminal No. (Symbols) W2-11 (NTSO) - Body ground
      Tool Setting 200mV/DIV., 10μs/DIV.
      Condition DVD displayed on television display

    NG: REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
