Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY - NAVIGATION RECEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the W2 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the K8 receiver connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K8-2 (CDR+) - W2-28 (R+) Always Below 1 Ω
      K8-3 (CDR-) - W2-29 (R-)
      K8-4 (CDL+) - W2-30 (L+)
      K8-5 (CDL-) W2-31 (L-)
      K8-1 (CSLD) - W2-27 (SLD9)
      K8-2 (CDR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K8-3 (CDR-) - Body ground
      K8-4 (CDL+) - Body ground
      K8-S (CDL-) Body ground
      K8-1 (CSLD) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the W2 display connector.
    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions, as shown in the table below.

      Waveform 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W2-28 (R+) - Body ground Audio sound is being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      W2-29 (R-) - Body ground
      W2-30 (L+) - Body ground
      W2-31 (L-) - Body ground

    NG: REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
