Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK TURN SIGNAL LIGHT 
    1. Check that the turn signal lights blink.

      Result 

      TURN SIGNAL LIGHT

      Result Proceed to
      All turn signal lights do not blink A
      Only front turn signal light does not blink B
      Only rear combination light does not blink C
      Only door mirror foot light does not blink D

    B: Go to step   4

    C:  Go to step   5

    D: Go to step   6

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT FUSE (LH-IG, TURN-HAZ) 
    1. Remove the LH-IG fuse from the main body ECU.
    2. Remove the TURN-HAZ fuse from the engine room junction block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      LH-IG, TURN-HAZ

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LH-IG fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      TURN-HAZ fuse

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TURN SIGNAL FLASHER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TURN SIGNAL FLASHER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J29-3 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      J29-1 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TURN SIGNAL FLASHER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J29-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. for LH:
      1. Disconnect the A12 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A12-3 (B) - J29-10 (LTRN) Always Below 1 Ω
        A12-2 (E) - Body ground
        A12-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for RH:
      1. Disconnect the A13 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A13-3 (B) - J29-17 (RTRN) Always Below 1 Ω
        A13-2 (E) - Body ground
        A13-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. for LH:
      1. Disconnect the R5 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        R5-5 (TRN) - J29-2 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
        R5-6 (E) - Body ground
        R5-5 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for RH:
      1. Disconnect the R4 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        R4-5 (TRN) - J29-8 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
        R4-6 (E) - Body ground
        R4-5 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. for LH:
      1. Disconnect the N5 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND LH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        N5-4 (B) - J29-2 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
        N5-3 (E) - Body ground
        NS-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for RH:
      1. Disconnect the M6 light connector.
      2. Disconnect the J29 relay connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER AND BODY GROUND RH

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        M6-4 (B) - J29-8 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
        M6-3 (E) - Body ground
        M6-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
