Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK DTC OF IPDM E/R
Check DTC in "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of IPDM E/R using CONSULT.
Is DTC detected?
YES: Perform the diagnosis procedure related to the detected DTC. Refer to "DTC INDEX ".
NO: GO TO 2.
- CHECK STEERING LOCK UNIT POWER SUPPLY
Check voltage between steering lock unit harness connector and ground.

Steering lock unit Connector Terminal M40 1 Ground Ignition switch OFF A few seconds after opening the driver door Battery voltage Ignition switch LOCK Press the push-button ignition switch Battery voltage Ignition switch ACC or ON 0 NOTE:To lock the steering - Set the selector lever in the P position.
- Turn the power supply position to the OFF position.
- Press any door switch.
To unlock the steering - Set the selector lever in the P position.
- Press the push-button ignition switch with brake pedal not depressed.
Is the inspection normal?
YES: GO TO 3.
NO: GO TO 4.
- REPLACE STEERING LOCK UNIT
- Replace steering lock unit.
- Perform the service procedure for steering lock unit replacement. Refer to
CONSULT display instruction.
: INSPECTION END
- CHECK STEERING LOCK RELAY CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
- Disconnect steering lock unit connector.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and steering lock unit harness connector.
IPDM E/R Steering lock unit Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E7 49 M40 1 Existed - Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.
IPDM E/R Ground Continuity Connector Terminal E7 49 Not existed Is the inspection result normal?
YES: Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
NO: Repair or replace harness.
