Error item

Some error items may be displayed simultaneously according to the cause. If some error items are displayed simultaneously, the detection of the cause can be performed by the combination of display items

Error item Description Possible malfunction factor/Action to take
CAN COMM CIRCUIT CAN communication malfunction is detected. Perform diagnosis with CONSULT, and then repair the malfunctioning parts according to the diagnosis results.
Refer to "CONSULT FUNCTION ".
CONTROL UNIT (CAN) CAN initial diagnosis malfunction is detected. Replace the AV control unit if the malfunction occurs constantly.
Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
CONTROL UNIT (AV) AV communication circuit initial diagnosis malfunction is detected.
FLASH-ROM Error Of Control Unit AV control unit malfunction is detected.
Connection Of Gyro
Connection of G Sensor
CAN Controller Memory Error
Bluetooth Module Connection Error
Sub CPU Connection Error
iPod authentication chip error
Audio connection error
DSP Connection Error AV control unit malfunction is detected.
  • If a disc can be played, then there is a possibility of the detection of a temporary malfunction.
  • Replace the AV control unit if the malfunction occurs constantly.

DSP Communication Error
HDD Connection Error AV control unit malfunction is detected.
  • If the music box function has no malfunctions, then there is a possibility of the detection of a temporary malfunction.
  • Replace the AV control unit if the malfunction occurs constantly.

    Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
HDD Read Error
HDD Write Error
HDD Communication Error
HDD Access Error
GPS Communication Error GPS malfunction is detected. An intermittent error caused by strong radio interference may be detected unless any symptom (GPS reception error, etc.) occurs.
Replace the AV control unit if the malfunction occurs constantly.
Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
GPS ROM Error
GPS RAM Error
GPS RTC Error
Unfinished configuration The writing of configuration data is incomplete. Write configuration data with CONSULT. Refer to "CONSULT FUNCTION ".
USB Controller Communication Error USB connection malfunction is detected. Check that the connection to the USB connector is normal.
DVD Mechanism Communication Error AV control unit malfunction is detected.
  • If DVD can be played, then there is a possibility of the detection of a temporary malfunction.
  • Replace the AV control unit if the malfunction occurs constantly.

    Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
Steer. Angle Sensor Calibration Predictive course line center position adjustment of the steering angle sensor is incomplete. Adjust the predictive course line center position of the steering angle sensor.
Refer to "CONSULT FUNCTION ".
Amplifier Temperature Error BOSE amp. malfunction is detected. Replace the BOSE amp.
Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
Front Display Connection Error When either one of the following items are detected:
  • display unit power supply and ground circuits are malfunctioning.
  • communication circuits between AV control unit and display unit are malfunctioning.
GPS Antenna Error GPS antenna connection malfunction is detected. Check the connection of the GPS antenna connector.
XM Antenna Connection Error Satellite radio antenna connection malfunction is detected. Satellite radio antenna disconnection.
USB electric current Error Detection of overcurrent in USB connector. Check USB harness between the AV control unit and USB connector.
AM/FM antenna amplifier short to ground Antenna amp. ON signal circuit malfunction is detected. Antenna amp. ON signal circuit between AV control unit and antenna base.

FL-DOOR WOOFER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door woofer LH. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door woofer LH.
FL-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short
FL-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short to ground
FL-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short to battery
FL-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: open When either one of the following items is detected:
  • sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door squawker LH are malfunctioning.
  • sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and tweeter LH are malfunctioning.
  • Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door squawker LH.
  • Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and tweeter LH.
FL-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short
FL-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short to ground
FL-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short to battery
FR-DOOR WOOFER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door woofer RH. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door woofer RH.
FR-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short
FR-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short to ground
FR-DOOR WOOFER OUT: short to battery
FR-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: open When either one of the following items is detected:
  • sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door squawker RH are malfunctioning.
  • sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and tweeter RH are malfunctioning.
  • Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front door squawker RH.
  • Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and tweeter RH.
FR-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short
FR-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short to ground
FR-DOOR SQUAWKER OUT: short to battery
FC-INST SQUAWKER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and center speaker. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and center speaker.
FC-INST SQUAWKER OUT: short
FC-INST SQUAWKER OUT: short to ground
FC-INST SQUAWKER OUT: short to battery
FL-SEAT L-SQUAWKER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and driver seat speaker LH. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and driver seat speaker LH.
FL-SEAT L-SQUAWKER OUT: short
FL-SEAT L-SQUAWKER OUT: short to ground
FL-SEAT L-SQUAWKER OUT: short to battery
FL-SEAT R-SQUAWKER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and driver seat speaker RH. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and driver seat speaker RH.

RC-PSHELF WOOFER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and rear woofer. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and rear woofer.
RC-PSHELF WOOFER OUT: short
RC-PSHELF WOOFER OUT: short to ground
RC-PSHELF WOOFER OUT: short to battery
RR-PSHELF SQUAWKER OUT: open Malfunction is detected sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and satellite speaker RH. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and satellite speaker RH.
RR-PSHELF SQUAWKER OUT: short
RR-PSHELF SQUAWKER OUT: short to ground
RR-PSHELF SQUAWKER OUT: short to battery
Compensat. mic IN: open Malfunction is detected in sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and either front or rear microphone. Sound signal circuits between BOSE amp. and front or rear microphone.
Compensat. mic IN: short
Compensat. mic IN: short to ground
Compensat. mic IN: short to battery
  • AV COMM CIRCUIT
  • Switches Connection Error
 When either one of the following items are detected:
  • multifunction switch power supply and ground circuits are malfunctioning.
  • AV communication circuits between AV control unit and multifunction switch are malfunctioning.
  • Multifunction switch power supply and ground circuits.
  • AV communication circuits between AV control unit and multifunction switch.
  • AV COMM CIRCUIT
  • Amplifier Connection Error
 When either one of the following items are detected:
  • BOSE amp. power supply and ground circuits are malfunctioning.
  • AV communication circuits between multifunction switch and BOSE amp. are malfunctioning.
  • BOSE amp. power supply and ground circuits.

    Refer to "BOSE AMP.: DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE ".

  • AV communication circuits between multifunction switch and BOSE amp.
  • AV COMM CIRCUIT
  • Switches Connection Error
  • Amplifier Connection Error
