Diagnosis Procedure
WARNING:
- Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait 3 minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)
- Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.
- CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR
Check the harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 2.
NO: Replace harness connector.
- CHECK WIRING HARNESS
Check the wiring harness externals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 3.
NO: Replace wiring harness.
- CHECK SPIRAL CABLE CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect driver air bag module connector and combination switch (spiral cable) connector.
- Check continuity between driver air bag module harness connector and combination switch (spiral cable) harness connector.
Driver air bag module Combination switch (spiral cable) Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M302 10 M35 28 Existed 11 30 M301 12 29 9 30 - Check continuity between driver air bag module harness connector and ground.
Driver side air bag module Ground Continuity Connector Terminal M302 10 Not existed 11 M301 12 9 Is the inspection result normal?
YES: GO TO 4.
NO: Replace combination switch (spiral cable). Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW ".
- REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT
- Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW "
- Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to
"DTC LOGIC ".
Is DTC detected?
YES: GO TO 5.
NO: INSPECTION END
- REPLACE DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE
- Replace driver air bag module. Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW "
- Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to
"DTC LOGIC ".
Is DTC detected?
YES: GO TO 1.
NO: INSPECTION END
