Direct Adaptive Steering System

  1. CHECK THE ANGLE SENSOR 

    Check the force motor angle sensor. Refer to Component Inspection .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    NO

    Force motor angle sensor is malfunction. Replace steering column assembly. Refer to STEERING COLUMN : Removal & Installation .

  2. CHECK THE SENSOR CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect steering force control module and force motor angle sensor harness connector.
    2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and angle sensor harness connector.

    3. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 3.

    NO

    Repair or replace error-detected part.

  3. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 
    1. Check enlarged contact spring of terminal. Refer to Inspection .
    2. Perform intermittent incident while turning steering wheel. Refer to Inspection .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace steering force control module. Refer to STEERING FORCE CONTROL MODULE : Removal & Installation .

    NO

    Repair or replace error-detected part.
