Direct Adaptive Steering System

  1. CHECK THE TEMPERATURE OF CONTROL MODULE 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Start the engine.
      CAUTION: Never drive the vehicle.
    2. On the CONSULT screen, select "DAST 2">>"DATA MONITOR">>"C/M TEMPERATURE".
    3. Wait with the ignition switch OFF until the data monitor indication becomes between -40 deg. C (-40 deg. F) and 150 deg. C (302 deg. F).

    Does the temperature become between -40 deg. C (-40 deg. F) and 150 deg. C (302 deg. F)?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    NO

    Replace steering angle sub control module. Refer to STEERING ANGLE SUB CONTROL MODULE : Removal & Installation .

  2. PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Erase self-diagnosis for "DAST 2".
    3. Turn the ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    4. Start the engine.
      CAUTION: Never drive the vehicle.
    5. Perform self-diagnosis for "DAST 2".

    Is DTC "C13DE-00" detected?

    YES

    Replace steering angle sub control module. Refer to STEERING ANGLE SUB CONTROL MODULE : Removal & Installation .

    NO

    • Check enlarged contact spring of terminal. Refer to Inspection .
    • Perform intermittent incident while turning steering wheel. Refer to Inspection .
