Direct Adaptive Steering System

Check the steering angle sub motor. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 2.

NO

Steering angle sub motor is malfunction. Replace steering gear assembly. Refer to STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE : Removal & Installation .

1. Disconnect steering angle sub control module and steering angle sub motor harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and motor harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.

1. Disconnect sub motor angle sensor harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and angle sensor harness connector.

3. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.

1. Check enlarged contact spring of terminal. Refer to Inspection .
2. Perform intermittent incident while turning steering wheel. Refer to Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace steering angle sub control module. Refer to STEERING ANGLE SUB CONTROL MODULE : Removal & Installation .

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.
