Direct Adaptive Steering System

Check the steering force motor. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 2.

NO

Steering force motor is malfunction. Replace steering column assembly. Refer to STEERING COLUMN : Removal & Installation .

1. Disconnect steering force control module and steering force motor harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and motor harness connector.

3. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.

1. Disconnect force motor angle sensor harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and angle sensor harness connector.

3. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.

1. Check enlarged contact spring of terminal. Refer to Inspection .
2. Perform intermittent incident while turning steering wheel. Refer to Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace steering force control module. Refer to STEERING FORCE CONTROL MODULE : Removal & Installation .

NO

Repair or replace error-detected part.
