System Description: Radio
AM/FM Radio
- Radio signal for the AM/FM radio is received by the antenna base located on the rear center of the roof.
- There are main and sub lines for the antenna line. Main is used for AM and FM, and sub is used for FM.NOTE: For FM radio with FM diversity function, AV control unit selects from main or sub antenna that receives the higher signal strength. Either the main or FM sub.
- Antenna amp. is integral to the antenna base and is connected to the main antenna line. The antenna amp. receives the antenna amp. ON signal from the AV control unit and transmits the antenna signal to the AV control unit after amplifying the signal received from the AM/FM and FM sub antennas.
For vehicles without Bose audio system, AV control unit transmits the sound signal to each speaker when the antenna signal is received.
For vehicles with Bose audio system:
- AV control unit transmits the sound signal to the Bose speaker amp. when the antenna signal is received.
- Bose speaker amp. transmits the sound signal received from AV control unit to each speaker.
Satellite Radio
- Satellite radio tuner is built into AV control unit.
- Sound signal (satellite radio) is received by satellite radio antenna and is transmitted as follows:
For vehicles without Bose audio system, AV control unit transmits the sound signal to each speaker when the satellite radio signal is received.
For vehicles with Bose audio system:
- AV control unit transmits the sound signal to the Bose speaker amp. when the satellite radio signal is received.
- Bose speaker amp. transmits the sound signal received from AV control unit to each speaker.
