Diagnosis Procedure

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to appropriate system Wiring Diagram .

1. CHECK DTC PRIORITY 

   If DTC "C1A13-00" is displayed with DTC "U1000-01", first diagnose the DTC "U1000-01".

   Is applicable DTC detected?

   YES

   Perform diagnosis of applicable DTC. Refer to DTC Logic .

   NO

   GO TO 2.

2. CHECK BCM SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESULTS 

   Check if any DTC is detected in "Self Diagnostic Result" of "BCM".

   Is any DTC detected?

   YES

   Perform diagnosis on the detected DTC and repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. Refer to DTC Index .

   NO

   GO TO 3.

3. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH 

   Check that "STOP LAMP SW" operates normally in "DATA MONITOR" of "ICC/ADAS".

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES

   GO TO 6.

   NO

   GO TO 4.

4. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH INSTALLATION 
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Check stop lamp switch for correct installation. Refer to Inspection .

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES

   GO TO 5.

   NO

   Adjust stop lamp switch installation. Refer to Adjustment .

5. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH 
   1. Disconnect stop lamp switch connector.
   2. Check stop lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection (Stop Lamp Switch) .

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES

   GO TO 6.

   NO

   Replace stop lamp switch. Refer to Exploded View .

6. CHECK STOP LAMP FOR ILLUMINATION 
   1. Connect stop lamp switch connector.
   2. Check that the stop lamps illuminate when depressing the brake pedal.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES

   To check malfunction symptom before repair. Refer to Intermittent Incident .

   NO

   GO TO 7.

7. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN STOP LAMP SWITCH AND ECM 
   1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect stop lamp switch and ECM connectors.
   3. Disconnect BCM connector E29.
   4. Check for continuity between the stop lamp switch harness connector and the ECM harness connector.

   5. Check for continuity between stop lamp switch harness connector and ground.

      Stop lamp switch		Ground	Continuity

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES

   Replace the ADAS control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation .

   NO

   Repair or replace the harness or connector.
