No. Component Function
1. Inside key antenna (luggage room) Inside key antenna (luggage room) detects whether Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Inside Key Antenna (Luggage Room) for detailed component location.
2. Rear door lock actuator RH Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly. Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
3. Rear door switch RH Refer to Rear Door Switch for detailed component location.
4. Outside key antenna RH Outside key antenna (RH) detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the vehicle or not and then transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Outside Key Antenna RH for detailed component location.
5. Front door switch RH Refer to Front Door Switch for detailed component location.
6. Front door lock actuator RH Front door lock actuator locks/unlocks the front door latch assembly. Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
7. Front door request switch RH Refer to Front Door Request Switch (RH) for detailed component location.
8. Power window and door lock/unlock switch RH Door lock and unlock switch transmits door lock/unlock operation signal to BCM. Refer to Power Window and Door Lock/Unlock Switch RH for detailed component location.
9. Electric shift control module Electric shift control module detects the shift lever status, transmits park position signal to the BCM. Refer to Electric Shift Control Module for detailed component location.
10. Intelligent Key warning buzzer Intelligent Key warning buzzer warns the user, who is outside the vehicle, of operation confirmation according to Intelligent Key operation and door request switch operation, or of an inappropriate operation. Refer to Intelligent Key Warning Buzzer for detailed component location.
11. Horn (low) Horns are operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.
12. Hood switch Refer to Hood Switch .
13. Transmission range switch Refer to Transmission Range Switch for detailed component location.
14. Horn (high) Horns are operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.
15. IPDM E/R (Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room) IPDM E/R detects push-button ignition switch (push switch) status, and transmits push-button ignition switch status signal to BCM. Refer to System Description .
16. Dongle unit (if equipped) Refer to Dongle Unit .
17. Stop lamp switch Refer to Stop Lamp Switch for detailed component location.
18. BCM (Body Control Module)
  • BCM controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), INFINITI VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [IVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.
  • BCM performs the ID verification between BCM and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available.
  • Then, when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, BCM performs ID verification between BCM and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine.
Refer to System Description .
19. Combination meter
  • Combination meter transmits the vehicle speed signal to BCM via CAN communication.
  • BCM also receives the vehicle speed signal from ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) via CAN communication. BCM compares both signals to detect the vehicle speed.
  • Security indicator lamp is located on combination meter.
  • Security indicator lamp blinks when ignition switch is in any position other than ON to warn that INFINITI VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [IVIS (NATS)] is on board.
Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
20. Main power window and door lock/unlock switch
  • Door lock and unlock switch is integrated into the main power window and door lock/unlock switch.
  • Door lock and unlock switch transmits door lock/unlock operation signal to BCM.
Refer to Main Power Window and Door Lock/Unlock Switch for detailed component location.
21. Push-button ignition switch (NATS antenna amp.) Push-button ignition switch has push switch inside which detects that push-button ignition switch is pressed, and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM. BCM changes the ignition switch position with the operation of push-button ignition switch. BCM maintains the ignition switch position status while push-button ignition switch is not operated. Refer to NATS Antenna Amp. .
22. Inside key antenna (console) Inside key antenna (console) detects whether Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Inside Key Antenna (Console) for detailed component location.
23. Front door request switch LH Refer to Front Door Request Switch (LH) for detailed component location.
24. Front door lock assembly LH Refer to Front Door Lock Assembly (LH) for detailed component location.
25. Front door switch LH Door switch detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.
26. Outside key antenna LH Outside key antenna LH detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Outside Key Antenna LH for detailed component location.
27. Rear door lock actuator LH Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly. Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
28. Rear door switch LH Refer to Rear Door Switch for detailed component location.
29. Remote keyless entry receiver Remote keyless entry receiver receives button operation signal and key ID signal of Intelligent Key and then transmits them to BCM. Refer to Remote Keyless Entry Receiver for detailed component location.
30. Outside key antenna (rear bumper) Outside key antenna (Rear bumper) detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Outside Key Antenna (Rear Bumper) for detailed component location.
