POSSIBLE CAUSE
- Fuel system
- Leakage in fuel line
- High pressure fuel pump
- Low pressure fuel pump
- Damage in lifter
- Out of gas

- Fuel Injector stuck open
- Clogged in fuel line
- High Pressure fuel pump cam and lifter

| Traveling control mode | Accelerator angle variation control | ECM controls the accelerator pedal depression speed to make it slower than actual speed. This causes a drop in accelerating performance and encourages the driver to repair malfunction.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
- CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P0087 is displayed with DTC P0090, P1197, P0190, P119A, P119B, P119C, P020x, or P062B, first perform the trouble diagnosis of DTC P0090, P1197, P0190, P119A, P119B, P119C, P020x, or P062B.
Is applicable DTC detected?
>>
Perform the diagnosis of the applicable. Refer to DTC Index .
>>
GO TO 2.
- CHECK FUEL LEAKAGE
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Visually check the piping between low pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors (Port fuel injectors and direct fuel injector.) for fuel leakage.
- Start the engine.
- Visually check the piping between low pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors (Port fuel injectors and direct fuel injector.) for fuel leakage.
Is inspection result normal?
>>
GO TO 3.
>>
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test. TESTING CONDITION:
- Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is 11 V or more at idle.
- Before performing the following procedure, check that the fuel tank is 1/8 full of fuel.

GO TO 4.
- PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1
With CONSULT
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Select "COOLANT TEMP/S" in "DATA MONITOR" mode of "ENGNE" using CONSULT.
- Check the following condition;
COOLANT TEMP/S : (-12) - (+40)°C (10.4 - 104°F)
With GST Follow the above steps for "With CONSULT ".
Is the condition satisfied?
>>
GO TO 5.
>>
- Satisfy the condition.
- Retry from step 2.
- PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2
With CONSULT
- Start the engine and let it idle for 10 seconds.
- Check 1st trip DTC.
With GST Follow the above steps for "With CONSULT ".
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
>>
Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure .
>>
GO TO 6.
- PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-3
With CONSULT
- Select "COOLANT TEMP/S" in "DATA MONITOR" mode of "ENGINE" using CONSULT.
- Maintain the following condition for 10 seconds or more at idle.
COOLANT TEMP/S : 70°C (158°F) or more - Check 1st trip DTC.
With GST Follow the above steps for "With CONSULT ".
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
>>
Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure .
>>
To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident .
>>
Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
