Using Scan Tool

NOTE: Refer to hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to (DLC3). See Figure.
  3. Set each test item to condition 1 as shown in illustration. See Fig 1.
  4. Start engine. At this time the absorber control indicator light illuminates for 2 seconds. After that, this light flashes at .25 second intervals. If the absorber control indicator does not flash, check the Ts terminal circuit. See TEST E: Ts TERMINAL CIRCUIT .
  5. Change each test item to condition 2. See Fig 1. Check that the absorber control indicator light illuminates for one second.
  6. Read DTC by following prompts on tester screen. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
