Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair

Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assy:

RH BANK

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER [11259]
a. Remove the V-bank cover by removing the 2 nuts.

2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1 [17751]

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE [17875]
a. Disconnect the air hose and ventilation hose No.1.
b. Remove the intake air connector pipe by removing the bolt and hose clamp.

4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY [11101J]
a. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.
b. Remove the bolts and oil control valve.

5. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY [11101J]
a. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

Torque: 8.5 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)

b. Connect the oil control valve connector.

6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE [17875]
a. Install the intake air connector pipe with the bolt and the hose clamp.

Torque:
4 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) (hose clamp)
5 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) (bolt)

7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1 [17751]

8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER [11259]

Torque: 5 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assy:

LH BANK

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER [11259]
a. Remove the V-bank cover by removing the 2 nuts.

2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY [11101J]
a. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.
b. Remove the bolts and oil control valve.

3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSY [11101J]
a. Install the oil control valve with the bolt.

Torque: 8.5 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)

b. Connect the oil control valve connector.

4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER [11259]

Torque: 5 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
