Section 545 (Horn System): Inspection

  1. INSPECT FUSE (HORN) 
    1. Check the HORN fuse resistance.

      Resistance: Below 1 Ω 

      If the result is not as specified, replace the fuse.

  2. INSPECT HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSY 
    1. Check operation of the horn.

      Standard: 

      MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) --> Horn bracket
      Horn sounds

      If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assy.

  3. INSPECT LOW PITCHED HORN ASSY 
    1. Check operation of the horn.

      Standard: 

      MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) --> Horn bracket
      Horn sounds

      If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assy.

      If all the check results are as specified above and the wire harness is normal, replace the horn button switch (steering wheel pad) (See INSPECTION ).
