Remove floor console and related components as necessary. See SHIFT INTERLOCK CABLE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the park interlock cable end from the rod of the floor shift assembly. See Fig 1.
Pull the cable out of the floor shifter while pressing the clip of the park interlock cable. Remove the cable clamps from the cable. See Fig 2. Place the ignition in the Neutral position. Remove cable from the ignition switch assembly. See Fig 3. Using a screwdriver, unlock the claw on the key lock of the automatic adjuster. See Fig 4.
Install the cable into the cable clamps. Place the ignition in the ACC position. Install the cable into the ignition switch assembly. Place ignition in the Neutral position, install cable to floor shifter. Snap down the cable adjuster claw. Ensure the key lock is in contact with the cam stopper. See Fig 5. Check system operation. Install floor console components as necessary.
