Inspection Procedure

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the connectors shown in Fig 1 from the stereo component amplifier assy and speakers.
- Measure the resistance between the front No. 2 speaker assy and the stereo component amplifier assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between the rear speaker assy and the stereo component amplifier assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between the stereo component speaker assy and the stereo component amplifier assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between the woofer box speaker assy No. 2 and the stereo component amplifier assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker assy and the front No. 2 speaker assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between the woofer box speaker assy No. 1 and the stereo component amplifier assy to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- Measure the resistance between each speaker and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard: 10 kΩ or higher

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT WOOFER BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 2
- Resistance check.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in WOOFER BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 2 RESISTANCE .
NOTE: The speaker should not be removed for checking.Standard:

- NG: REPLACE WOOFER BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 2 (SEE W/BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 2 )
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Resistance check.
- INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSY
- Resistance check.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard: 4 to 6 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Resistance check.
- INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSY
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
OK: Malfunction disappears.
HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the speakers.
- When there is a possibility that either right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- OK: REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSY
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
- INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSY
- Resistance check.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard: Approximately 2.4 Ω
- NG: REPLACE REAR SPEAKER ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Resistance check.
- INSPECT WOOFER BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 1
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
OK: Malfunction disappears.
HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the speakers.
- When there is a possibility that either right or left rear speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- OK: REPLACE WOOFER BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 1 (SEE W/BOX SPEAKER ASSY NO. 1 )
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSY
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
OK: Malfunction disappears.
HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the speakers.
- When there is a possibility that either right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- OK: REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSY
- NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.
