Inspection Procedure

  1. OPERATION CHECK 
    1. If the power slide door does not operate when trying to open it, proceed to A.
    2. If the power slide door does not operate when trying to close it, proceed to B.
    1. B: Go to step   3 
    2. A: Go to next step 
  2. CHECK SLIDE DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM 
    1. Check if the slide door closer system operates.
    1. NG: GO TO CLOSER SYSTEM (See  SLIDE DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  3. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the handle operation detect switch.

      Standard (Power slide door ECU LH): 

    DATA LIST ITEM REFERENCE

    Item Measurement Item/Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
    HANDLE SW Handle operation detect switch signal /ON or OFF ON: Slide door inside/outside handle is pulled
    OFF: Slide door inside/outside handle is not pulled
    -
    1. OK: Go to step   6 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  4. INSPECT SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL SUB-ASSY LH (HANDLE OPERATION DETECT SWITCH) 
    1. Inspect the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

    HANDLE OPERATION DETECT SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Terminal No. Lever Position Specified Condition
    1 - 3 Unlock 10 kΩ or higher
    Lock Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL SUB-ASSY LH 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL ASSY (HANDLE OPERATION DETECT SWITCH) - POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH) 
    1. Disconnect the S20 remote control and P25 ECU connectors.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard (Check for open circuit): 

      S20 REMOTE CONTROL AND P25 ECU CONNECTORS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      S20-1 - P25-3 (HSW) Below 1 Ω
    3. Check the resistance between the S20 remote control connector and body ground.

    Standard (Check for open circuit): 

    S20 REMOTE CONTROL CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Terminal No. Specified Condition
    S20-3 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH 
  6. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Using the hand-held tester, check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the child protection detect switch.

      Standard (Power slide door ECU LH):

    CHILD LOCK SW Child protection detect switch signal /ON or OFF ON: Child lock lever is LOCK
    OFF: Child lock lever is UNLOCK

    1. OK: REPLACE POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  7. INSPECT SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL SUB-ASSY LH (CHILD PROTECTION DETECT SWITCH) 
    1. Inspect the resistance of the switch.

    Standard: 

    CHILD PROTECTION DETECT SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Terminal No. Lever Position Specified Condition
    4 - 5 Unlock 10 kΩ or higher
    Lock Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL SUB-ASSY LH 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDE DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL ASSY LH (CHILD PROTECTION DETECT SWITCH) - POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH) 
    1. Disconnect the S20 switch and P25 ECU connectors.
    2. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard (Check for open circuit): 

      S20 SWITCH AND P25 ECU CONNECTORS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Terminal No. Specified Condition
      S20-5 - P25-18 (CPSW) Below 1 Ω
    3. Check the resistance between the S20 switch connector and body ground.

      Standard (Check for open circuit): 

    S20 SWITCH CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Terminal No. Specified Condition
    S20-4 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE POWER SLIDE DOOR ECU LH
