Occupant Classification Ecu: Replacement

  1. (See  PRECAUTION  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

  3. REMOVE FRONT RH SEAT ASSY 

    (See  OVERHAUL  (POWER SEAT) OR  OVERHAUL  (MANUAL SEAT)) 

  4. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors from the occupant classification ECU.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the occupant classification ECU.

  5. INSTALL OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
      CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
    3. Install the occupant classification ECU.
    4. Connect the 2 connectors to the occupant classification ECU.
    NOTE:
    • If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
    • When installing the occupant classification ECU, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
  6. INSTALL FRONT RH SEAT ASSY 

    (See  OVERHAUL  (POWER SEAT) OR  OVERHAUL  (MANUAL SEAT)) 

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  )
