Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE ON HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC 3.
    2. Turn the hand-held tester on.
    3. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the hand-held tester to check the P2 switch.

    1. OK: CHECK COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ) 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING LOCK ECU - SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the S46 connector from the steering lock ECU.
    2. Disconnect the S7 connector from the shift lock control ECU sub-assy.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the figure Fig 2 below.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

    REPLACE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSY (SEE  OVERHAUL  )
