Inspection Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lexus RX 330. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSY - MULTI-DISPLAY)
- Disconnect the multi-display connector M3 and multi-display controller sub-assy connector R15.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
MULTI-DISPLAY CONNECTOR AND MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSY CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCETester connection Condition Specified condition SGD1 - SGN1 Always Below 1 Ω NTSC - NTS1 Always Below 1 Ω SG - SG3 Always Below 1 Ω NTSC - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher SGD1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher SG - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLER SUB-ASSY (OUTPUT SIGNAL)
- Reconnect the multi-display controller sub-assy connector R15.
- Measure the waveform according to the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition NTSC - Body ground DVD display is ON A waveform synchronized with display signals is output
- NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSY (SEE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSY )
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
HINT:
The waveform pattern may differ from that shown in the illustration below due to differences in oscilloscope setting. A normal multi-display controller sub-assy operating condition can be determined if any waveform is output.
Oscilloscope wave
Terminal: NTSC-Body ground
Setting: 500 mV/DIV 10 mus/DIV
Condition: DVD display is ON.
